Since taking over in November 2011, we have worked hard to establish the Chequers as a pub you will want to visit time and again.
The Chequers is more than a “gastro pub”. It’s more than a charming country pub in a beautiful location. The Chequers belongs most of all to the village of Slaugham although guests from further afield are always made welcome in true Sussex fashion. Our monthly newsletters keep the village in touch with what is literally an endless source of entertainment: Village Nights (eat sumptuously for a fiver), quizzes in aid of local charity St. Catherine’s Hospice,, year-round BBQs, seafood weekends with locally sourced fish and shellfish and live Jazz every Sunday lunchtime are just some of the regular events.
